Classes
If you want to learn to knit or crochet, or if you need help with a particular pattern or technique, I can help you out! I’ve been knitting and crocheting for 25 years, so no question is too basic or too complex. I offer both individual lessons as well as pre-scheduled group lessons at City Sewing Room, 7 Sisters Yarn and Fiber, and Coma Coffee. Sign up for a group class below or via the Events page. If you would like to schedule a small group class at your own location, contact me and we can set something up! All classes are ages 12+ and under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
If you want to learn something more specific than in one of my general classes or prefer dedicated instruction rather than a group class, I am available to work with you on a 1:1 basis.
We can meet at a mutually agreed upon location that is convenient to both parties. I frequently host lessons at City Sewing Room and Coma Coffee. After purchase, I will be in touch to coordinate the details.
You can either purchase per hour or in blocks of 10 hours at a 20% discount.
I can cover pretty much any topic knitting/crochet related, but here are some examples of things you might want individual help with:

There are so many ways to start and stop your knitting. In this class we’ll discuss why certain methods work better than others for various situations plus try them out for ourselves!
Feel free to bring your own supplies, but I will have supplies to use during class as well.

This class is geared towards people who can already do a couple of the basics or have gone through my Learn to Knit or Crochet classes. We will learn a few types of increases and decreases so you can make things that aren’t just rectangles and squares!
I recommend bringing your own supplies so they are things you are familiar with and would be using again the future. I will have some supplies available, but here’s what you will need:
1-3 skeins 100% cotton yarn, common brands are Sugar ‘n Cream or Peaches & Creme
size 8 knitting needles or size H crochet hook

The Learn to Knit/Crochet price covers 3 hours of instruction and feedback, and whatever you make during the class is yours to take home. If you would like to continue to work on your project at home after the class, I will have supply kits available for purchase.

In this class we will go over the basics of making amigurumi/plushies and then put our skills to use by making an adorable elephant!

Crocheting in the round
Increasing and decreasing
Using safety eyes
Stuffing your pieces
Sewing pieces together
Embellishing your plushie
If you choose the option where supplies are not provided, you need to bring the following:
Size F or G crochet hook
Worsted weight yarn
1 split ring or locking stitch marker
Small amount polyester stuffing
