I had a hockey game on Sunday and I didn't really want to go. I wasn't feeling very well mentally and the roads were a little snowy and icy. When I'm not feeling well, it can be very easy to just stay home and not go out and do things. But, I also know that exercise is not only good for my body, but good for my mind as well.
As soon as I step onto the ice, all my other problems melt away. Hockey is a one hour respite from all the other crap going on in my life. All there is to think about is how is my skating, do I have both hands on my stick, where is the puck, am I in position, gotta hustle, is it safe to do a line change.
And even though I didn't want to go, I'm glad I did.
